Meeting new people

Meeting new people can be awkward and nerve-racking.

When I first met the owners of all the new businesses' I felt nervous. I didn't know what they were like and what they would think about a college student coming to film them for a promotional film with them in. However, I didn't need to be nervous because all of the business owners I filmed in Altrincham were friendly, happy and respectful toward me.

We talked about the college course I have been doing for the last two years, and also I mentioned that the video I was creating was for my final project. After that, the conversation let onto what I wanted to do as a career.

After meeting all these business owners, I realized that I shouldn't be so nervous about meeting new people and be gracious and enjoy meeting them. Talking to new people is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. You are practising your verbal communication skills when you speak to people from different walks of life. The more comfortable you communicate, the more open you'll be to trying new things.
