The first thing me and a fellow student did to plan to create the promotion videos was to go through the brief from Altrincham Bit because they are the go-between use and Evuna. We read through the brief to see what the client wanted for their video.

After that, we researched Evuna to see what it was like, and we found out that Evuna is a Spanish wine bar with 4 locations in Manchester – Northern Quarters, Altrincham, Deansgate, and Knutsford. They are passionate about telling an alternative culinary storey whilst staying rooted in the Spanish tradition.

When looking at their social media, they have an aesthetic that is very contrasting and uses natural light. From looking on their Facebook, they have a community of over 3,000 people and a following of over 4,000 people on Instagram. This means that they have an excellent social media presence as they have great exposition and content that their audience

appreciates.

Next, we looked at promotion videos for other restaurants to get some ideas on how to edit and film the video. For example, these are some of the videos that we looked at.

Restaurant Promo Video | Sigma 30mm f/1.4 - YouTube

This promo video was well done because of how they showed the restaurant and service and not only the food. Although it was edited in slow motion, the music complemented the edit well and was well fitted for a culinary video.

What I like about this promo video is how they have incorporated some of the sounds the food makes fit in with their music choice. Also, their music choice reflects the traditional cuisine of the restaurant, which is what we aim to do.

After getting inspiration from the video, I made a storyboard to show what we wanted the shots to look like and in the storyboard, it says what type of shot we wanted for each scene. The proposal with the storyboard was then sent to the client (Altincham Bid) to see if they liked the idea and the styles that we wanted to film the promotion video to be in.
